Tom O'Meara was a senior media executive before establishing Tom O'Meara and Associates in 2008.
Tom started his media career with a cadetship at the Burnie Advocate in 1965 and since then he has held senior reporting positions including State Political and Industrial roundsman, Local Government and Sport including racing.
He was appointed Chief of Staff of The Examiner in 1980, a position he held until 1989, before becoming The Examiner's inaugural North West manager in Devonport during a period of intense newspaper competition.
Tom was appointed General Manager of the Ballarat Courier in 1994 and General Manager of The Canberra Times in 1999.
In 2002 he was appointed as CEO of The Examiner and The Sunday Examiner and since then has continued his personal and professional involvement in the community as Chairman of the State Government's Stronger Communities Taskforce among other positions.
